Daphne has been riding since before she can remember. She started taking hunter/jumper lessons at the age of 5 and has continued to ride and compete since this age. When she was 17, she started to train at Silver Crest Stables with Shauna Pennell who is an exceptional horsewoman and one of the best in the business. Under her guidance, Daphne started to really excel in all the arenas of competition in the hunter jumper world.

Daphne is currently working as an assistant at Silver Crest. She is also the resident trainer at PM Farms in Agua Dulce, which breeds quality sport horses and is also one of the main Southern California facilities for Neigh Savers horse rescue. Neigh Savers is a non-profit organization that rescues, rehabs, retrains, and re-homes ex-racehorses. Daphne volunteers her time to help retrain them for new careers whether it be as a trail horse or as a competition prospect.

Daphne’s philosophy is that to be a horse trainer, you have to be constantly learning. Each horse is different and has something new to teach you. She trains in multiple disciplines such as reining, 3-day eventing, roping, barrel racing, and more, because she feels that the more she knows in all aspects of horse training, the better she will be able to understand and communicate with the horses she interacts with.
